Job Description:  Description
Responsible for the creation, implementation and automation of software application testing. The Software QA Automation Specialist will design, document and implement Automation test plans for new projects, report and manage defects, regress software fixes for new and existing products, assist development with replicating and debugging problems and develop test automation solutions as needed. Provides technical testing leadership and mentors QA Analysts I, II and III.

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Develop, maintain and execute automated testing scripts for Amedisys applications using test automation tools.

2. Develop, document and implement regression test suites using test automation tools. Play a major role in defining regression testing procedures.

3. Develop, document and implement automated testing standards and guidelines.

4. Assist development teams in automating their test plans and test cases as appropriate.

5. Work with Test and Development teams to proactively determine what and how Automated Testing can help them achieve their goals.

6. Continuously work with other members of the Amedisys QA team to improve our processes, tools, methods, effectiveness and efficiency.

7. Periodically monitor industry best practices in an effort to improve our software testing standards.

8. Document, troubleshoot and isolate problems encountered during testing. Ensure that all software bugs / problems are properly reported and recorded in the Project Defect / Issue Management program.

9. Maintain the automated test environments.

10. Perform other duties as assigned.





Requirements 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

2. Five (5) years of Software Testing experience.

3. Extensive background in QA methodologies and experience developing and executing comprehensive test suites for system software

4. Excellent knowledge of object oriented programming concepts and two (2) years experience with object oriented programming ( Visual Basic, C#, C++, VB Script, etc).

5. Ability to troubleshoot software / hardware configuration problems.

6. Software development cycle knowledge (design, code, source control, quality assurance, test and deployment).

7. Experience with relational database products such as MS SQL Server is required.

8. The requirement to work closely with a wide range of end users necessitates excellent oral and written communications skills.

9. Ability to work well within a team and project environment.

10. Ability to work under pressure on a number of different projects simultaneously.

11. Commitment to keeping abreast of technology and sharing that knowledge with others.


12. Broad information technology experience. Ability to plan and implement large projects.

13. Knowledge of the Home Healthcare industry preferred.
